Orion Real Estate Services is one of the leading LIHTC fee management companies in the State of Texas. Orion currently manages over 30 properties comprised of over 5,000 units throughout Texas. Orion has an outstanding Compliance Department comprising of five (5) full-time compliance monitors who review all new tenant files before the tenant moves into their new apartment home. In addition, each of our Property Supervisors and all of our on-site managers receive training and are certified through the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (state compliance monitor).

Orion reports not only to the developer clients, but to their equity partners as well. Boston Capital, Lend Lease and GE Capital are just some of the examples of the institutions that Orion works with and reports to. Their Asset Mangers receive monthly reports of all property activity and a set of accounting statements.

During the past five years Orion has successfully leased up 25 apartment communities from construction. They range in size from 72 units to 248 units and are located in 18 different cities in Texas.

It is the policy of Orion Real Estate Services to utilize minority- and women-owned business enterprises to the fullest extent possible. Definitions

Contract: includes any agreement to provide labor, services, material, supplies, and/or equipment in the performance of a contract awarded for an on behalf of a client of Orion Real Estate Services.

Contractor: is any person, persons, or firm, partnership, corporation, or combination thereof, regardless of race, religion, age (40 and over), marital status, physical handicap, mental condition, color, sex, ethnic origin or ancestry, whether or not a MBE or WBE that submits a bid and enters into a contract with Orion Real Estate Services.

Subcontractor: is any firm, person, or group of persons that contract with Orion Real Estate Services indirectly through a direct contractor or contracts with an Orion Real Estate Services client through Orion Real Estate Services.

Minority: The race/ethnic categories are: American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian or Pacific Islander, Black, and Hispanic.

Minority Business Enterprise (MBE): is a business concern that is all of the following:

• At least 51% owned by one or more minorities, or in the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more minorities.
• Managed by, and the daily operations are controlled by, one or more minorities.
• A domestic corporation with its home office located in the U.S., which is not a branch or subsidiary of a foreign corporation, firm, or other business.

Women Business Enterprise (WBE): is a business concern that is all of the following:

• At least 51% owned by a woman or, in the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more women.
• Managed by, and the daily operations are controlled by, one or more women.
