Susan graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors of Arts degree and began her career in property management in 1985 in Houston. Working for a national company Johnstown America, as a leasing consultant, Susan continued to move upward within site positions until she was promoted to Regional Supervisor two years later. In 1989 Susan joined another national property management group where she supervised a fee managed portfolio of over 4,000 units, covering four states for a diverse client base that included private investors, lending institutions, and HUD co-insured management groups such as Ginnie Mae. The portfolio was comprised of many types of mixed financed multi- family communities to include Project based Section 8 and, RTC Affordable Housing units as well as conventionally financed properties.

She joined Orion Real Estate Services in 1994 as a Regional Supervisor working with clients to reposition their real estate acquisitions in the marketplace through extensive million dollar renovations. The lease-ups of newly constructed properties were also placed under her supervision along with other daily responsibilities which included personnel management, the fiscal accountability of several assets, and recommendations for capital improvements for the sites. Since 2001, Susan has been directly involved with the supervision of operations for approximately 2,900 units or 14 public housing/tax credit communities for the Houston Housing Authority. The portfolio consistently has produced elevated PHAS scores annually as a result of the community partnerships developed with this client and the transition to asset based management.

In 2005, Susan was promoted to the position of Vice-President at Orion Real Estate Services. She was responsible for the direct supervision of five regional supervisors who monitored operations for approximately 7,200 units or 43 communities in Austin, San Antonio, Odessa, Beaumont, Colorado, Laredo, Port Arthur, and New Mexico. The development of many of these properties involved the financial layering of several affordable programs to include LIHTC, BOND, and HOME FUND financing; therefore her affordable housing experience is extensive.

Susan was promoted to the position of President of ALLIED INSPECTIONS and CONSULTING INC. in January 2008. She currently directs the operations of the inspection group which specializes in the performance of UPCS/HQS inspections for public housing and state compliance agencies.
